Battling Bride was born February 17, 2018, at GreenMount Farm, and is a Maryland-bred daughter of the Group 1 winner and promising young sire, Declaration of War, who’s first crop is racing as 3YOs in 2018 and already includes the Group 1 classic-winning Olmedo, plus three other stakes winners.
She is out of I’m Engaged, a two-time winning half-sister to a Grade 2 winner, whose dam is a half-sister to the Eclipse Champion runner and producer, Flanders. This family, and this cross, were recently discussed by Frank Mitchell in the context of War Front’s potential as a sire-of-sires.
She was sold out of the GreenMount Farm consignment at the Fasig-Tipton Timonium Yearling Sale for $58,000 to De Meric Sales.
